Title Block Importing & Scaling struggle

			Hey there.

I have drawn out two floor plans for two separate apartments. I've used the same measurement units and measured out the dimensions in inches. Each drawing started at the origin.

Once I completed both floor plans, I made a basic title block, which is literally just a 11x17 block, with .5in and .25 in offsets for borders.

When I import the title block into each drawing/floor plan, I get two totally different scales when importing the exact same file.

Shown here.

I am not sure how I can get each floorplans title block to the same scale, so I can also print out furniture stencils at scale as well.

Also, when I printed a test copy, the lines were very very feint. Am I correct in saying I need to change the line thickness so I can get a solid line when printing?

I had my part blocks in a directory and somehow even if I remove the path in the "PATHS" tab in Application Preferences, I still see the folders and blocks within those folders.
If I add the path into the Part Libraries field then I get duplicate items (but not duplicate folders) in the Library Browser.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.
I have also gone into the registry editor and removed any instance of LibreCAD keys and it some how still remembers the location.

I have a feeling that somehow this path has been saved somewhere in the registry similar to how the "C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreCAD\resources\library" path is hard coded for the default block items in the Library Browser.

Can I use a fifteen year old component software called “Draft Pack” with LibreCad?
I used this in conjunction with Cadkey years ago. It is on my portable hard drive.

Hi there - I'm completely new to LibreCAD (and CAD in general - I use Corel to do my drawings usually). Reason for getting into a CAD based platform is I need coordinate embeded DXF files (site plans) for 2-D groundwater modelling software I use. I can easily create a .tif or .jpeg image as a basemap but need to import it into CAD - scale it to the right scale then export it with the embedded coordinates. Should be easy I thought. I've tried and can sort of do it but the basemap isn't being rescaled when I try using the Scale function and the command line appoach is evading my entreaties. Is there any tutorial somewhere that covers this specific topic - I can't track one down. Cheers!

At least under Linux Mint 19 (and I assume other Linux distros the default path for drawing templates
appears to be the users home directory.
The User Manual suggests the default should be
/usr/share/librecad
however typing this path into the preferences and clicking OK does nothing to alter the actual source of template files.
Furthermore, using the path picker to source the directory requires choosing a .dxf file to load. Again, by default, the only directory that has a .dxf file is the path
/usr/share/librecad/library/templates with a single file empty.dxf
If this file is chosen in the picker then the path is set (including the file) although subsequently removing the file name from the path still allows the use of the library/templates directory as repository for template files.
After doing this I actually manually changed the path to the one suggested in the manual (/usr/share/librecad) but this has no effect so although the Applications Preferences now consistently show /usr/share/librecad the actual path to retrieving templates is /usr/share/librecad/library/templates.

I have not yet tested whether I can change this path again to say
/usr/share/librecad/templates (a directory that also exists) as, at the time of writing this post I don't have write permissions to that directory.
I will post again when I have tested it.

The reason this is actually important to me is because I am setting up training for end users who will have to know how to create and retrieve templates on whichever platform they will use at home while the machines used for training all run Linux.
Cheers

The old thread is locked due to no activity/age so here is my hopefully more fault-tolerant attempt at a library.

I created a github repo for this at: https://github.com/kozbot/kecb

The main file of concern is kecb.py that uses ezdxf and numpy to generate files in ./dxf folder.

Instead of the original 10 units x 10 units in a 1/8" block I am now using:
UNITS_PER_BLOCK = 20.0
BLOCK_SIZE = 1.0 / 8.0  # Block size , assuming Imperial we are setting to 1/8"

For metric I would either leave block size as 1 (so it would effectively be 20mm x 20mm) or use 25.0/20.0 to keep them approximately the same printed size.

			Hello all,

I have always the same shape to draw.

For an easy example I draw often an disc with inside diameter and outside diameter.
I woulk like to select an "Disc block" and that the software ask me :
- Give me the "Outside Diameter" and after give me the "Inside Diameter"
With these information the software draw the disc with the input values.

Is it possible yo create these sort of block?

Thank you very much for your answer.

UPDATE 5/18/2017 - This library was lost some time ago before I was able to post the symbols properly. I am now in the process of rebuilding it in case anyone sees this thread.

SEE: http://forum.librecad.org/ECAD-Symbols-Again-td5714870.html

I was about to start on an ECAD library for myself and thought that since I was already redrawing everything if I just made sure to use the right software I could release without licensing issues to other people as well since there are not many free libraries out there. So I have a python program I am putting together that automatically generates a dxf with all of the symbols I use personally (in US so it's a hodgepodge). Works beautifully for me and opens fine in LibreCAD 2. Everything is drawn currently in a 10x10 unit square so 11 points by 11 points to align to. Not going crazy with attributes or scaling yet just seeing where it goes right now.

Hi everybody, this is my first posting on the LibreCAD forum, I am a new user. I am pretty much familiar with Autocad. I used to program in C, but that was in a previous life. There was a time when I could almost hold a conversation in C...

Now I try to create a block in LibreCAD and I don't know where to start. The LibreCAD user manual is totally silent on Blocks. All the elements of my block (a kitchen stove, if you want to know) are already drawn in my drawing file, and now I want to convert them to a block so I can turn and move my stove around.

Do I need to add an empty block and then edit it to recreate my stove line by line, or is there a simpler way to use the stove I already drawn ?

			Dear Community,

hopefully I have post this question into the right Sub-Forums & Topics Folder. First I posted it into the Introduced Folder. Upps.

Now then,
     1) I have drawn a new screw in librecad with the layer "OBJECT" (shape), the "AUXILIARY" and the Layer _stretch_lr_2. Saved it as .dxf in the library-path.
     2) After then I open a new draw and choose from the library browser that screw. By pressing the Insert-Button I can change angle, factor and specify reference point.
     3) I'm missing the input value of length for the screw.
     4) If I understand aright then the _stretch_lr -layer defines the divide-line for asking to the length. The reference length will be needed by the programm to calculate the stretch amount. Is this still supported in librecad??

At the moment I can only stretch the screw by editing the block. And there I don't need the _stretch_-layer-function to stretch the screw anymore.

It would be very helpful to stretch the screw within the draw and not in modifing block mode.

Thank's for any recommendations??

So long!

Create block is grouping drawing entities to form a block that will be treated as an individual entity.
Insert block is putting this single entity into a drawing.

But
Add a block, and save it to a file, are uused specifically in what necessity?

			Finding things.
At view/library browser, there are misc and templates, shown in a tree menu. Not sure about, but A3_paper and a tux drawing are stored. Are these folders where I am suposed to keep my drawings? Where is it, at my system files?

At Edit/Application preferences/path, I creates a library folder. Where is it too?

Thanks
