Windows XP still in use?

With a new QT version on our Windows build server we run into the issue, that the nightly installer does not support Windows XP now.

Please let us know if you still use Windows XP by your vote.
If you want to say more about this, please reply to the thread linked above.

It might not be noticeable on a trackpad,
but there is proximal snapping with 'free snap' during mouse movement.
The name could probably still be improved.

In 2.2.0-alpha-24+ you can use space-bar to accept commands.
No need to erect any statues in my honor... ;D

The cal command now toggles the Calculator mode.
After toggling this mode on
input will be considered a mathematical expression
until the cal command is used again.

Also note that space-bar will toggle free snap when the cmd line is empty;
this is intended to help with placing dimensions.

I changed the default from lime (00ff00) to springgreen (00ff7f),
because it's less intense / I prefer it.

I'll also offer lightskyblue and maybe aquamarine.

but the aquamarine is too close to the old green

I've offered a few OS X beta versions using lightskyblue;
and will offer a few different colors for the release of 2.1.0.

Anyone that can build LibreCAD from source
can use a script to change all the icons in librecad/res/icons.
Just loop through the folder and do a string replacement of #00ff7f
I'll offer my Python script after I add a tkinter GUI.

Attached is the whole folder from the main repository if you want to experiment with InkScape.

I'm asking because it requires a 'space' character,
which means we can't use the space bar to submit a command.
This is unfortunate, especially for people coming from Autocad.

The idea I'm inclined toward is a separate input/widget for math,
with an automatic or quick copy feature.

It all depends on how people want to use it.
Let me know...

Agreed, voice recognition is an art you should leave to others, but don't wait for Qt
and its platform specific headaches, suffice to use the voice commands already available
on smartphones. For Siri or Utter, learning 40 'words' with 100% hits will probably
be a less than half hour exercice.
Putting a phone in the shirtpocket has an advantage: upward oriented, the microphone
handles commands spoken in a low almost whispered voice (it should be a light & cheap
model, no camera, no large screen).

Writing a dormant app able to convert 40 commands into 40 LibreCad encoded messages
sent through the phone WiFi Tx should not take more than a night for geeks like you ;-)

I would love to add that... I have researched it before.
Implementing voice recognition would mean another significant dependency,
which needs to be cross-platform.
It's a big job; and speech recognition usually needs to sample how you speak.
That means some interface needs to be created for that analysis.

The bad news is that this probably won't be added anytime soon.
The good news is that Qt (which is what we use) might provide speech recognition in the future.

Working on a MacBook Air, I exclusively use the trackpad.

I know you already have a sleepless todo list for the 2-1-x solstice version,
but may I suggest you add ''voice command' to your device list ;-)
Recognizing an action already selected in your action menus
should be an easy task for the likes of Siri. This would save a zillion clicks!.
