since you mentioned a scale of 1:100, it might help to play with the scale setting in the hatch dialog.

The hatch pattern is first scaled before being used to fill the hatching area. If the scaled pattern is much larger than the contoeur, there's not much left to be shown within in the contour after trimming. If the scaled pattern is too small for the contour, the pattern is duplicated to fill the contour, and if the number of duplicates is considered too large (100x100), hatching would be skipped.

I'm wondering whether it helps to show the hatch as solid fill in this case.

			With exeperience in AutoCAD it's easy to ask for (even) more when solutions or new developments are released. There's unreasonableness in this so I am a bit indecent I guess.

As far as I saw this does not come with the possibilities to set properties of the layer (plottable, color, thickness, etc.).

BTW, thanks for replying.

			Hope my lines do not look too critical. In fact I am exploring the boundaries.

I read the replies https://forum.librecad.org/Introduction-tp5728328p5728337.html but do know what exactly to answer. It feels like I have to be half a developer to be able to use LibreCAD.

Some things might be easier than I think. I saw files (somewhere) where lines like the following fit in. Guess I can figure this out.

        // set layer
        {
            {{"setlayer", QObject::tr("setlayer", "set active layer")}},
            {{"sl", QObject::tr("sl", "set active layer")}},
            RS2::ActionLayerSet
        },

But doesn't that require a C++ compiler? Although this is not completely alien to me, I do not intend to go that far to be able to use LibreCAD. I am a user in the first place, not a coder. I like VBA, GoogleScript, AutoLISP, Clojure (just toying with that). As you can see from this, I do not make applications. (I do not compile with an exception for Clojure.)

But (as written above) maybe it's easier than I expect.

			this is possible, yet in 2.2.2-alpha branch (not in production yet).

I've added a couple of commands exactly for that:

Commands for layers creation and activation
Two simple commands were added to let management of layers via script file (this addresses #2092)
cnlayer - creates and activates layer with given name

			eengebruiker, I don't know what you thought about https://forum.librecad.org/Introduction-tp5728328p5728337.html which is a call to make user interface, including commands, more user accessible.

Maybe you could add the command to the LibreCAD code, eg https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/commit/64aa33a24de97adfa5424b1fd6bcbd12138e007b

say:
        // set layer
        {
            {{"setlayer", QObject::tr("setlayer", "set active layer")}},
            {{"sl", QObject::tr("sl", "set active layer")}},
            RS2::ActionLayerSet
        },

Would require commands and ActionLayerSet to be available.

Hmm, it's more complicated than this. In the Layer widget when you click on the layer it sets the layer in the list, so the layer in the list must be identified.

There might (possibly) be some clues in this fork/branch: https://github.com/emanuel4you/LibreCAD/tree/developer

danke schon mal vorweg!

			Hi dxli ...

I was then able to solve it with a trick solution:

Where the ellipse of the stand intersects the table tube, I drew a line through both intersection points and used this line as a “knife” for trimming.

The lines of the table leg did not work as a “knife”, as it was not the part between the lines that was trimmed away, but half the ellipse.

But thanks for your help.

			Hallo dxli ...

I don't know if you can call it that, maybe that's exactly what it is.

When you view a drawing in the print preview, the scale that LibreCAD uses for printing is displayed at the top (see screenshot).

LibreCAD saves this scale internally in the program.

I would like this saved scale to be automatically transferred to the plan header (or to the drawing).

Of course, I can also close the print view, switch back to the drawing and enter it there as text.

That works, but I find it uncomfortable.

			"Spline through points" is likely a misnomer.

It's actually a quadratic bezer through given points. It's not cubic spline, or nurbs.

The quadratic bezer allows implementing more features, like tangent, hatching.

Exploding the quadratic bezer is not currently supported. If you have any suggestions on exploding a quadratic bezer, it helps.

			It's likely due to zooming.

The current mechanism is to avoid rendering text in tiny scales.

Could you zoom in to see the text?

If needed, please upload a sample dxf with the issue.

			Please note, when the rendered text is determined to be too small (consider the extreme, if the whole text is only 1 pixel in height), only a bounding box is drawn, i.e. the behavior of Draft mode.
I do have the problem of text (dimensions or TEXT tool) only showing an empty rectangle while draft mode is NOT ON.
At the moment I am stuck.

Well I am now unstuck: I just closed the program and re-opened it. It was just a local bug (the bugger!)

Matter closed for me
